Bombardier would like to ensure that operators, maintenance crews and service centres are familiar with and applying the cautionary note stated in the SMM TASK 12-15-00-680-801 – Draining the potable water system.

This method of draining the system will ensure that no residual water remains in the water pallet when the purging is done by one of the purging methods (purge button/manually).

  1. Cold Weather Purging Instructions

  1. Follow the SMM TASK 12-15-00-680-801 – Draining the potable water system as directed.

  1. Once the drainage is completed, leave the faucet open.

  1. Get access to the water pallet drain handle via the access door (Fig 1).

  1. Manually turn the drain handle in the OPEN position (vertically) (Fig 2).

Notes

  • The manual drain handle will close at the next power up.

  • Prior to filling the water tank, confirm the drain handle is in the CLOSED position.
