Engines Time Limited Dispatch (TLD)
Effectivity: Global 7500
ATA 73
Recently, GE released an article, “Passport | Dispatchability & fault levels (21-2Q-7200-06),” for the Business Jet Fleet Highlites, which highlights that info messages are available and associated with a Time-limited dispatch (TLD) for specific faults. Those info messages are allowing dispatch for a limited time interval with a redundant system that has one or more failed elements that individually or in combination do not prohibit “acceptable” function within the system.
The advantages of these messages are:
Reduces delays and cancellations
Allows for degraded redundancy dispatches
TLD takes advantage of available redundancy to permit scheduling of maintenance at a convenient interval.
The Passport 20 FADEC system is designed as such that various single-fault or dual-fault conditions are fully accommodated by redundancies that allow continued operation without degradation. The aircraft can be safely dispatched with faults for the substantiated time-limited intervals before maintenance action is required.
The Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) and the Dispatch Deviation Guide (DDG) must be used in conjunction with the Line Maintenance Manual (LMM) PASSPORT20-A-05-11-07-00A-0B1A-D - Time Limited Dispatch - Life Limits (Reference GEK 112062) (https://my.geaviation.com/)
Operators need to familiarize themselves with this LMM procedure and the Fleet Highlights.
