Mechanism and different aesthetics for service door latches

Effectivity: Challenger 300/350/3500 aircraft

Bombardier would like to inform operators of Challenger 300/350/3500 aircraft that there are now two authorized suppliers for the aft equipment bay door latch, battery access door latch, and outflow valve access door latch. Having dual suppliers will improve stock availability. 

The latch part number remains the same; however, the installer may notice a slight difference in finish colour. The new one has a golden finish and minor physical variations on the handle (see picture below). 

Despite these differences, we confirm that the two (2) components are fully compatible and interchangeable (two-way) with previous dash numbers, as specified in the Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog (AIPC).  

The mechanism is also different. The main difference lies in the button. During the opening process, in the original version, the button is attached to the handle. Whereas, with the new supplier, the button stays on the base during the opening.
