Reminder: Tambour door proximity switch controls galley water and electrical systems

Effectivity: Global XRS, G6000, G6500, G5000, GV5000 and G5500 aircraft

Water flow and electrical power (115vac or 240vac) to the aircraft galley are controlled by proximity switches, or sensors, that are positioned at the end of the tambour door tracks.

Operators are reminded that these switches are activated when the door is fully opened, allowing water and power to flow to the galley. If the tambour doors are closed or only partially open, neither water nor power will work.

These switches are installed as a safety measure to help prevent accidental spills or appliance over-heating.

If a situation occurs where water is being provided to the forward lavatory but none to the galley faucet, ensure that the tambour door is completely pushed up to activate the proximity switch or sensor.
