ATA: 00-00

By: Stephane Beauchamp – Technical Services

Here, we have provided an update on regulatory agencies’ Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) for Bombardier Global series aircraft.

Global Express aircraft – BD-700-1A10 & BD-700-1A11 status:

Transport Canada (TCCA) Revision 8 released August 2022, and its most current Temporary Revisions (TRs) are discussed within this article. Revision 8 changes also incorporate all TRs since the previous MMEL, Revision 7.
Temporary Revision TR-20 specifically documented the Version V5.8 Advanced Avionics Upgrade (AAU) software (aka Tech Insert Phase 1) and includes new Crew Alert. Subsequently, TR-21 added AFDX Network Port Lock and TR-22 converted (Maintenance) to (Operational) procedure allowing more flexibility for dispatch by the flight crew.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) released Revision 9 last November 2022

and incorporated changes associated with Transport Canada’s (TCCA) TR-20 revision. A new Revision 10 proposal was sent to EASA last May 2023 for review and approval; this introduces similar changes per TCCA TR-21 and 22.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) MMEL has not been updated since Revision 15 dating to 2021. As a result, a recent Flight Operation Evaluation Board (FOEB) review was completed last April 2023 for the next Revision 16. These changes seek to align the FAA MMEL with TCCA Revision 8 including TR-20, TR-21 and dispatch relief for single channel DCU inoperative on Global 5000 GVFD and Global 6000. Subsequently, per the FAA Flight Standards process, this draft MMEL will be open for comments on their portal prior to final approval and publishing.

The documents are accessible through the Bombardier Customer Portal https://customer.aero.bombardier.com/cic/public/. Click on the following links to navigate to the associated MMEL:
